Imagine an elderly woman who uses a walker because she needs a hip replacement.  She has high blood pressure, dementia and is borderline diabetic.  Now imagine she is you.  You now live with your children because you can't live alone.  You have frequent doctor visits.  You don't drive anymore.  You can't be left alone.  You feel like a burden to your children.

Now, imagine you find a place where you can stay while your children are at work.  It is close to their workplace, so they don't have to rush to work everyday after dropping you off.  This facility provides doctor care and physical therapy and is four miles from a hospital.  This place is an adult day care facility which has most of the components you need to have an abundant life.

Suddenly, you are no longer a burden.  You are independent again.  You are a strong parent...
you always have been.

Addressing Code obligations is the goal of this assignment.  In analyzing the existing building, we are able to diagnose what issues will arise in planning and find solutions to each problem.  We will also address sustainability in an aggressive manner in the design of the parentstrong facility.
